The Ancient Order of Hibernians Monsignor Crean Division One is set to host the 34th Annual Irish Festival on Sunday, Oct. 8 on club grounds, 2419 Kuser Road in Hamilton.
On Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. the AOH will also host an Irish pub night from 7 to 11 p.m., featuring the Irish Band “The Captain and O’Neil” performing the music of The Wolfe Tones, Saw Doctors, The Chieftains, Paddy Reilly and more.
The Irish Festival will take place Sunday on the club grounds starting at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, and children under 15 are free when accompanied by an adult. This year the festival has an expanded free children’s area from 1 to 5 p.m. with free pumpkin decorating for the first 75 kids compliments of Windsor Farms. Also free for kids is a petting zoo and a penalty kick contest.
The festival will feature performances by Rince O Chroi, a Traditional and Contemporary Irish Dance School and The Denogla-Armore Academy of Irish Dance. The award winning Monsignor Crean Pipes and Drums will also play during the day. Irish bands scheduled to appear are Ryan’s Express and one of Philadelphia’s most popular Irish Bands the Shanty’s, filling out the bill will be Billy O’Neal and Andy Koontz.
Music will be continuous through 9 p.m. Beverages (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic) will be available for purchase throughout the duration of the Festival. Food and other vendors will also be on hand.
