The Tulpehaking Nature Center invites families to create their own real-life fishing stories on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. Children and adults can fish for free — no equipment or fishing license required.
For this event, staff from the Mercer County Park Commission’s Tulpehaking Nature Center will be at Spring Lake in Roebling Memorial Park in Hamilton with guided activities, equipment and fishing lessons.
Visitors can practice their casting skills on the challenge course, learn about common sport fish and fishing regulations, or go lakeside for some catch-release fishing with the experts. New Jersey state fishing licenses are not required on this day.
A limited number of fishing poles will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spring Lake is accessible from Sewell Avenue, off South Broad Street. Pre-registration is required; call (609) 888-3218 or e-mail natureprograms@mercercounty.org.
