WW-P Education Support Association would like to thank all the WW-P Board of Education candidates and community members who attended the candidate forum.
On Sept. 30 and Oct. 7, WW-P Education Support Association hosted forums with the candidates for WW-P Board of Education. Five candidates—Isaac Cheng and Peter Syrek from Plainsboro, and Rekash Kak, Veronica Mehno and Yanping “Helen” Ming from West Windsor— took their time to attend the forum and answer questions from the audiences. Nearly 100 community members attended the forums. Thank you to all who participated.
The goal of the board of education candidates forum is to provide an opportunity for WW-P parents and residents to meet the school board candidates and understand better their positions on various school related issues. WWPESA has hosted the forum two years in a row. Like last year, this year’s forums were pleasantly received by all the candidates and audiences who attended the events.
WWPESA would also like to thank all the volunteers who put in their time and effort to make such forums possible. In early August, invitations were sent to all candidates, and the format of the forum was explained. After candidates agreed to participate, WWPESA staff communicated with the candidates regarding the event date, time slots and candidates’ biography.
In early September, the event flyer was finalized and the event was publicly advertised. Many WWPESA members and nonmembers registered for the forums and submitted questions for candidates to answer. These questions were forwarded to the candidates three days before the forum. On the night before the event, two West Windsor candidates withdrew from attending the candidates forum.
As an organization, WWPESA does not endorse or oppose any candidate. We encourage all WW-P residents to watch the videos of the forum at the front page of wwpesa.org and to vote on Nov. 7.
