The Jefferson Park residents and Conover Rd residents came out in droves last night. They voiced their opinion AGAINST the Conover Bike path. It was clear the MAJORITY of the residents in the room OPPOSED this plan. We also have 50 signatures on a petition of Jefferson Park residents opposing this plan. We offered alternative plans and then Francis Guzik gave argument against the other alternatives.
Therefore, we Oppose this plan and DO NOT want the council to request an extension of grant money for this plan. Also, I will state that Pat Ward, was quite rude to residents when they were asking questions and quickly taking the microphone away from residents when it was Not in favor of this plan. Also Pat Ward would not let them finish their thoughts.
This meeting was for all of us to voice our opinion and listen to what Francis Guzik had to say about the exact proposal for this plan and how it would impact Jefferson Park residents and Conover Rd. Residents. It will greatly affect us and our quality of life will decline.
Our homes will be worth less money. Why??? Just to have bikers come through our quiet Conover and take away trees and go THROUGH WOODS that will forever change the landscape of this area.
Where will the wildlife go? Lyme disease will increase and undesirable activity will happen in the woods. Galston drive will have an increase of bikers on it as the would rather ride down Galston than on Conover.
As a resident for 31 years, my husband and I oppose this. If bikers want to be safe to ride, go to the BEAUTIFUL MERCER COUNTY PARK THAT HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BIKE TRAILS.
