Game 2. Vs. Robbinsville 3 at Bear Tavern Field 3 on Sunday, Sept. 11: win 6-0. After a moment of silence to remember the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, Jack’s Nursery took the field and seemed to be quickly getting into the swing of the season in their second game against Robbinsville team No. 3 on Sunday afternoon. Jeffrey Blake did a tremendous job of protecting the goal for Jack’s Nursery as he dove on the ground to stop one shot destined to score for Robbinsville. Robbinsville kept playing their goalie far out in front of the net and late in the first half, Jack’s Nursery striker David Sigman took advantage of this position by popping a shot up over the goalies head and perfectly placing it into the far corner of the net. Mason Skall and Daniel English defended Jack’s Nursery’s turf throughout the half with relentless defense. In the second half, midfielder Walter Lewis came up early with a high-bouncing pop fly which rebounded over the Robbinsville goalies head for Jack’s second goal of the day. Daniel English put in Jack’s third and fifth goal of the day—both in break aways against Robbinsville. Dominic Chila and Jeffrey Blake both scored in fast turnovers against Robbinsville’s goal kicks. Both Dom and Jeffery were able to stop the goal-kick and convert their 1-on-1 contests against the goalie into well-placed goals. Goalies Han Kim and Mason Scall both did an excellent job of keeping Jack’s Nursery’s shots uncontested in the second half.
