The Hopewell United Methodist Church will honor the memory of long-time member and leader Norma Arons on Sunday, Sept. 25, with the dedication of a butterfly garden on the church property.
Arons, who was a kindergarten teacher for 36 years in the Montgomery School District and served on many church committees including the Sunday school superintendent and president of the United Methodist Women, died last September. Arons is remembered with much love and affection by church and community members.
The public is invited to a short program of dedication and remembrance after the 10 a.m. worship service at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 20 Blackwell Ave. The program will be held outside, weather permitting.
The garden is the work of several church members and includes stone carvings in the pavers and rocks, done by Hopewell artist Janis Blayne Paul of Karmic Stone.
The program will be followed by “Sundae Sunday,” where participants will make ice cream sundaes.
