On Oct. 1st and 8th, WW-P Education Support Association hosted two forums for the WW-P BOE candidates: Carol Herts, Louisa Ho, Richard Kaye, Deborah Marinsky, Scott Powell, Mirna White (from West Windsor) and Shrenik Dagli, Todd Hochman, Russel Melville, Yu “Taylor” Zhong (from Plainsboro). On behalf of WWPESA, I thank them for participating in this event. Their insights on the school district issues are invaluable. Their dedication to our community will undoubtedly be appreciated by all WW-P residents.
It was a successful event – we had about 60 attendees on both Oct. 1st and Oct 8th, including several sitting BOE members, the deputy mayor of Plainsboro, reporters from WW-P News and the Princeton Packet, etc. Some candidates also gave WWPESA permission to display their video clips, which are now available at our website www.wwpesa.org.
WWPESA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan and non-religious organization dedicated to supporting educational excellence for K-12 students in the WW-P Regional School District.
In the past several exciting programs have been launched by WWPESA. In May and June we hosted some events mostly for elementary and middle schoolers, and in July we invited six young speakers who recently graduated from high school to share their high school and college experience.
More than 100 attendees from all ethnic background participated. Our next event is going to be in November, where Professor Po-Shen Loh (math.cmu.edu/~lohp) will give a seminar to the general public on Nov. 19 (afternoon or evening). We are working with the school district to orchestrate this event. Please visit wwpesa.org for more information in the next couple of weeks.
