John G. O’Sullivan was elected President of the Old Barracks Museum Association at the 112th Annual Membership Luncheon Meeting held in Trenton on December 9, 2015.
The Old Barracks Museum Association held its 112th Annual Membership Meeting in Trenton on December 9, 2015.
During the meeting, John G. O’Sullivan was elected as President of the organization. O’Sullivan is a resident of Monmouth Junction and a former councilman of South Brunswick Township. He and his wife Jacqueline have been members of the association for over 14 years.
The Old Barracks was built in 1758. The barracks was built for housing British troops fighting the French and Indian War. The barracks is also linked to the Battle of Trenton where George Washington won the battle after crossing the Delaware during the War of Independence from England. The Old Barracks Museum is located next to the State Capital building in Trenton.
In addition, the Old Barracks Museum was seen on the FOX Network show “Strange Inheritance”, highlighting George Washington’s wallet, which is displayed there.
