#b#Longtime Scout Leader Receives Service Award#/b#
Doug Fullman of Plainsboro received the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service from the Washington Crossing Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Registered in Scouting since he was a Cub Scout, he was a Boy Scout and an Explorer. Elected to the Order of the Arrow he is a vigil honor member. He has been an assistant scoutmaster, Webelos leader, and served on pack and troop committees throughout most of his career.
He has served as a professional scouter since college, most recently as program director of the Northeast region. Fullman has previously been honored with the Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award, the BSA Distinguished Service Award, and the BSA Distinguished Eagle Award. He has served on the staffs of numerous National Scout Jamborees and is currently a member of the Mercer Area District of the Boy Scouts
As a volunteer scouter since retirement as the program director for the Northeast region, he is an assistant scoutmaster, district committee and council member at large, area committeeman, chairman of the Kiefer Scholarship committee, and on the National Shooting Sports Task Force and was the past Council Scout Family FOS Chairman. He has assisted with council training and area wide camp appraiser training. As a board member of the New York-New Jersey American Camp Association he is a lead camp appraiser and trainer as well as a vice president of NJ-GAP, providing leadership in government affairs concerning camps and properties in New Jersey.
Fullman, an Army veteran, has a bachelor’s degree from Emory and Henry College. Currently he is principal of Value to Vision, a consulting firm specializing in program and property management, long range planning, and retiree consulting placements.
President of the Plainsboro Senior Citizens Club, Fullman is the AARP atate chairman for fairs and displays. A widow, he is the father of two adult children, Aimee Fullman, and Clark Fullman; and has two grandchildren.

#b#Teen Philanthropists Celebrate#/b#
More than 650 people joined the Jewish Community Youth Foundation’s annual philanthropy fair and check presentation ceremony held February 21 at Robbinsville High School. In excess of $61,000 was distributed to 27 programs by 170 area teens representing 18 synagogues, 11 middle schools, and 21 high schools.
JCYF is a teen philanthropy program and a project of Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County. The program has disbursed almost $700,000 since its inception 13 years ago.

Highlights from the evening included a Bar Mitzvah celebration honoring those that have contributed to the success of JCYF. Sabrina and Lindsay Chevlin of West Windsor delivered a D’var Torah discussing the importance of continued philanthropy.
“I have learned invaluable skills and knowledge that I will take with me to college and use the rest of my life,” says Jack Paley of West Windsor. “All the time spent debating with my peers has helped me become a more effective communicator and collaborative team member. My experience in the program has enabled me to understand who I am and the importance of giving back to those in need.”
