Princeton Public Library is accepting original film submissions for the 2016 Princeton Student Film Festival being held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 20 and 21. Student filmmakers whose works are selected will be invited to introduce and talk about their works during the 13th annual festival.

Students ages 14 to 25 are encouraged to submit original films with running times of 20 minutes or less, in a wide range of genres and styles. There is no fee to enter. Deadline for submission is June 1. The entry form and other guidelines are available at www.princetonlibrary.org/psff.

Students from Somerset, Morris, Mercer, Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Union counties are invited to enter the Wings of Hope T-shirt contest sponsored by Cancer Support Community Central New Jersey. Winning designs will be worn by attendees at the National Cancer Survivors Day event in Bedminster on Saturday, June 4. Participants should submit a 8.5×11 black-and-white line drawing that illustrates what “hope” means to them. E-mail drawings as an attachment to kbottone@cancersupportnj.org with name, age, school, and an explanation of the piece. Submissions will be posted on Facebook for public voting through Saturday, April 30. The winning design from an elementary school student will be used for youth shirts; the winning middle or high school design will be used for adult shirts. Visit www.cancersupportnj.org/wings.

Kidsbridge, a nonprofit dedicated to bullying prevention, empathy, diversity appreciation, and respect for all, is accepting entries for its second annual youth competition. This year’s theme is “Standup4Diversity: How I Include and Respect Others.” Entries are accepted in three categories: essay, art poster, and video PSA. McCarter Theater holds auditions for 50 area actors to be part of the community ensemble in its 2016 production of “A Christmas Carol.” Performers of all ages (14 and over), genders, races, and levels of ability and experience are welcome. Auditions take place at the following locations and times:

Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice seeks compassionate and emotionally mature volunteers to provide support to Mercer County hospice patients and their families. Two three-day training sessions will be held in May. The registration deadline is Monday, May 9. Middlesex County 4-H holds a one-week summer camp for rising fourth through seventh graders who are Middlesex County residents. The Explorations Week program runs Monday through Friday, July 11 through 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 and the 4-H Youth Center, 645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Choice of daily activities includes rocketry, archery, scrapbooking, dance, cheerleading, wilderness survival, and biking. Cost is $170, which includes daily lunch and a T-shirt. Kelsey Review, an arts journal published annually by Mercer County Community College, is accepting fiction, poetry, personal essays, art, photography, and cartoons by those who live or work in Mercer County for its 2016 edition. Prose is limited to 4,000 words and poetry to six pages. Material can cover any topic but may not be previously published.
