Film producer Peter Saraf will visit the Princeton Garden Theatre next week to promote his latest film,
Loving
.
Loving will be screened on Friday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the theater, located at 160 Nassau Street, Princeton. After the film, Saraf will take questions from the audience about the making of Loving and the true story that inspired the movie.
The historical drama—staring Joel Edgerton, Ruth Negga and Michael Shannon—tells the true story of interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving. The couple famously fought for their right to marry in 1950s Virginia, when state law prohibited interracial marriages. The couple took their case to the Supreme Court, where they successfully overturned Virginia’s law in 1967.
The film has been celebrated since its premiere at Cannes. Saraf has produced many popular indie titles over the past 20 years including Charlie Kaufman’s Adaptation, Safety Not Guaranteed, and the Oscar nominated film Little Miss Sunshine.
