This holiday season, the West Windsor Arts Council and MarketFair Mall are teaming up to host the Winter Warm Up on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
This year’s Winter Warm Up will feature performances by West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North’s a cappella group, Out of the Blue, and a STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math—project.
Winter Warm Up is the third annual free community event. Art activities—all materials supplied—and musical performances will be located in the center courtyard at MarketFair Mall, Route 1 in Princeton.
David Peins and Sejal Krishnan will be teaming up to lead the STEAM art activity, light up holiday cards.
The cards will first be designed and created with Sejal Krishnan, an art educator known for her arts classes at the West Windsor Arts Center. Once that picture is created, it will be brought to life with light and interaction. Participants will do this by making complete circuits with conductive tape, batteries and LEDs taught by David Peins, president and founder of Robodyssey Systems, LLC, and teacher for library and school programs.
“We are looking forward to offering this STEAM-based program as part of the Winter Warm Up event this year,” West Windsor Arts Council’s Executive Director Aylin Green said. “It is part of a larger initiative that we have undertaken at the art center to provide learning experiences that incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math into the joy of the arts.”
