The rich cultural life of Princeton’s Latino community will be celebrated with an afternoon of music, dance, food, crafts and more on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. Co-sponsored by the library, The Arts Council of Princeton and Mi Pueblo Lindo, the event will take place on Hinds Plaza in Princeton.
The cultures of Peru, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Argenina, Spain, Guatemala and many other countries of Latin America will be represented in a mercado on the plaza during the event. Salsa and other Latin American music will be presented by local DJ Carlos Hendricks.
At 3 p.m., flamenco dancers featuring Lisa Botalico will perform. Food will be available from Aurelio’s Cocina Latina and Tico’s Eatery and Juice Bar. The Arts Council and the library will provide crafts and other activities during the event including the building of a piñata that children can participate in breaking open at 4:45 p.m.
