Liz Ševčenko, founding director of the Humanities Action Lab, is set to present “Mass Incarceration in Public Memory, Public Dialogue and Public Policy” on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. The lecture will take place at noon at the Princeton Public Library located at 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton. Part of the library’s Spotlight on the Humaniies series, the talk will be in the Community Room.
Ševčenko will discuss how, this fall, in 20 cities across the country, teams of students, ex-offenders, corrections officers, and others are exploring how their communities have grappled with incarceration in the past- and opening dialogue on what to do next.
The Humanities Action Lab is a a consortium of 20 universities, led by The New School, working with issue organizations and public spaces to create public humanities projects that explore diverse local histories and current realities of shared global concerns.
