The Garden Gate Garden Club in Lawrenceville is set to begin its springtime programs on March 16 with guest speaker David Bosted who will talk about the favorite plants of Frederick Law Olmsted.
The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Township Senior Center located at 30 East Darrah Lane.
Olmsted is renowned for designing Central Park in New York City. Additionally, he was hired in 1883 by the trustees of the John Cleve Green foundation to design a park-like campus for the Lawrenceville School where he planted almost 400 trees. He also worked on designing Trenton’s Cadwalader Park.
Bosted is an environmental and government lawyer. In January he was elected to serve as vice president of the Friends of the Lawrence Nature Center.
