#b#North Competes in Fencing Tourney#/b#
The High School North fencing squad sent 16 athletes to the Freshman-Sophomore Tournament on February 9, and nine of them advanced to the finals.
The boys and girls finished with six total medals, three gold and silver. Kristina Khaw, Tianna Kwok and Alec Wang took home first in girls’ freshman epee, girls’ sophomore epee and boys’ sophomore epee, respectively.
Janet Zhang fenced to a second-place finish in girls’ freshman epee, while Danush Gupta and Weslly Pan placed second in boys’ freshman epee and boys’ sophomore sabre, respectively.
#b#Pirate Baseball Hosts Clinic#/b#
The High School South varsity baseball team will host a clinic on Saturday, February 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. The reigning Mercer County champions will teach tips and tricks and give advice. Registration will be taken at the door beginning at 12:30, but attendance will be limited, so arrive early with a glove, bat, and sneakers. The $20 fee includes a Pirate baseball T-shirt.
