Sheriff Jack Kemler promotes five officers

Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler recently announced five promotions in the Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Jennifer Glazewski has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and Jeremy Stewart, Paul Toth, James Nizolek and Gregory Bezek have each been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sheriff Kemler swore in each officer before family and friends at the Mercer County Civil Courthouse on Friday, March 6.

Lieutenant Glazewski, a fifteen-year veteran the Sheriff’s Office has been assigned to the Courts Division. Glazewski is a 1999 police academy graduate, having previously served as a court officer. She was promoted to Detective in 2003, conducting criminal and domestic violence investigations in addition to making numerous fugitive arrests. She was elevated to the rank of Sergeant in 2007. She has most recently served as the Sheriff’s TAC officer – in charge of the radio room, criminal data terminals, interagency information exchanges, and dispatcher communications. She has received numerous commendations and exceptional duty awards throughout her distinguished law enforcement career.

Sergeant Jeremy Stewart is a graduate of the Trenton Police Academy and an eleven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He has served in the Courts Unit and as a Detective in the Fugitive Unit. Over the past several years, he has served as a key member of the United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Sergeant Paul Toth, an eleven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office has served as a Detective in the Fugitive Unit and he has been a principal member of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force – working in conjunction with the County Prosecutor’s Office and local police departments to solve difficult murder cases.

Sergeant James Nizolek, a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office is a graduate of the Mercer County Police Academy. He has served in the Sheriff’s Courts and Patrol Units, and as a Detective in the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit. Over the past several years, he served as a principal member of the United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Sergeant Gregory Bezek, a 14-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office is assigned to the Sheriff’s Process Unit, serving various court and legal documents throughout the county. He is also a well-established representative of the Sheriff’s Office Programs Unit. There, Officer Bezek has presented hundreds of public programs throughout his career, related to crime prevention and awareness, community education, children’s and senior safety, such as child car seat inspections and National Prescription Drug Take-Back initiatives.
