Superintendent Crystal Edwards received notification this week that the New Jersey Department of Education has designated the Lawrence Township Public Schools as a “high performing” district. As part of the state’s Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC) district performance review, LTPS underwent a QSAC assessment during the 2014-2015 school year.
New Jersey Administrative Code requires districts to undergo a QSAC review every three years. The in-depth analysis of district practices and capacity considers five areas of school district effectiveness to determine the extent to which a thorough and efficient education is being provided. The five areas are: instruction and program, fiscal management, operations, personnel, and governance.
The state’s Department of Education standards and criteria used to evaluate school districts assess both actual achievement and progress toward proficiency, local capacity to operate without State intervention, and the need for support and assistance provided by the State.
