Saint Raphael School’s Mr. Remi Cruz, director of Technology, and two fifth-grade students.
Hamilton’s Saint Raphael School recently accepted delivery of a 3D printer and object scanner.
During initial testing, students and teachers learned how to produce objects based on web based sources. The school plans to use the 3D printer to provide hands-on engineering activities, teach digital sculpting, explore advanced manufacturing technologies and produce tangible artworks.
The school will also use the printer as a tool for many areas of education. For example, teachers will be able to print historical “artifacts”, interesting biological models, and even sculptural replicas.
