Plainsboro Human Relations Council seeks nominations for the second annual Martin Luther King Jr. “Make a difference” volunteer awards on Sunday, January 17, at 3 p.m., at Plainsboro Recreation and Cultural Center. The Plainsboro Humanitarian Award may be given to an individual or group who meets the criteria.
Must be a resident of Plainsboro, or actively involved in Plainsboro; demonstrates excellence in volunteerism, community service, civic, social, or corporate responsibility; creative utilization of people, resources, and opportunities; role in advocating for volunteerism in the community; outstanding contribution to community service efforts, and honorable commitment to volunteer service.

Yardley Players has auditions for “Mary Poppins” on Wednesday, December 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, noon to 4 p.m. Prepare a song from the show or in the style of the show and be ready to participate in a group dance audition, as well as readings from the script. Community Options offers School to Employment Program (STEP) geared toward assisting young adults with developmental disabilities prepare for adulthood. It partners with local school districts to offer students unpaid internships through job sampling rotations. Students work side-by-side a team of highly trained job coaches. West Windsor Lions Club is collecting gently used coats to distribute through the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen during the holiday season. Boxes are located at the West Windsor Senior Center, PNC Bank in West Windsor, and West Windsor municipal offices. Coats may also be brought to the annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, December 6, at Community Middle School in Plainsboro.
Mercer County Veteran Services is conducting its annual donation drive to help veterans and their families enjoy the comforts of a hot meal on each holiday. The organization accepts monetary donations that go toward the purchase of ShopRite gift cards veterans can use to purchase holiday meals. Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton is collecting gently used winter coats through Jersey Cares. A collection box is located in the welcome center. Donators will receive a free guest pass to the park for a return visit. Partner non-profit service organizations will pick up coats for distribution to their clients in need. Donations are being accepted 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays, through December 9.

Princeton United Methodist Church welcomes new singers and ringers to the choirs.
