The Merancas Foundation has awarded the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County a grant of $50,000 for its Homelessness Prevention program. The 2015 grant of $50,000 will support the Crisis Ministry’s mission to keep families and individuals in their homes when faced with eviction or other threats to housing stability.
Director of Housing Stability and Homelessness Prevention services, Cynthia Mendez, projects that The Crisis Ministry will help to stabilize approximately 650 households in 2015, similar to the previous year’s service.
The Merancas Foundation supports non-profit organizations that provide vital safety nets such as food, shelter, safety, and health; improve academic achievement for children; and enable economic independence for adults. The foundation supports organizations in the Greater Princeton area, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia.
The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is in its 35th year of working with low-income Mercer County households to improve food security, housing stability, and job readiness. Each year, the organization serves people of all ages living in more than 5,000 households.
