Rising Stars singers place in Mid-Atlantic Music Teachers Guild Festival

The students at Rising Stars Voice Studio of Bordentown participated in the Mid-Atlantic Music Teachers Guild 2015 Festival in Whippany March 27-29. Rising Stars had 20 of its vocal students place in more than 10 categories.

The three-day event offered competitive and non-competitive opportunities for vocalists and instrumentalists from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania to perform, and was followed by an Awards Concert on March 29.

Vocal students from Rising Stars sang in one or several categories offered during this competition including: idol, musical theatre, duet, classical, pop and jazz.

Rising Stars M.A.M.T.G. 2015 winners include:

Idol Elementary: Mia Procaccino (3rd place)

Idol Freshman: Lola Coker (2nd place); Abigayle Harnum (5th place)

Idol Junior: Ana Del Valle (2nd place)

Musical Theatre Elementary: 4th place, Camryn Norman (4th place)

Musical Theatre Freshman: Abigayle Harnum (2nd place)

Duet Junior: Mia Proccacino and Katie Raynor (4th place), Gianna Marrano and Emily O’Connell (5th place)

Duet Intermediate: Abigayle Harnum and Gabriellle Takacs (5th place), Julianne Adelman and Courtney Quinn (5th place)

Duet Senior: Marisa Anderson and Brittany Krall (4th place)

Classical Solo Intermediate: Abigail Gunther (1st place), Abigayle Harnum (2nd place), Isabella Mayo (4th place)

Classical Solo Senior: Brittany Krall (3rd place), Marisa Anderson (5th place)

Pop Solo Elementary: Avery Barrett (2nd place)

Pop Junior: Grace Hoffman (2nd place), Olivia Mattis (2nd place), Katie Raynor (4th place)

Pop Intermediate: Ana Del Valle (2nd place), Lucas Bergen (5th place)

Jazz Junior: Mia Procaccino (4th place), Nicole Sutera (5th place)

Jazz Intermediate: Ana Del Valle (2nd place), Abigayle Harnum (4th place)

Rising Stars, along with Alisha Cardenas of Central New Jersey Productions, also offers musical theatre programs. Most recently, CNJP showcased the talents of many young performers in the area during the production of Beauty and the Beast., Jr. This summer, children and teens interested in musical theatre camps are invited to audition on June 19 for Into the Woods, Jr. (teens) and Little Mermaid, Jr., to be performed at the Open Arts Stage in Bordentown.
