Betsy Kaplan of Plainsboro is featured in two art exhibits this month. She has a solo show at Buck’s Espresso on Bridge Street in Lambertville. Her acrylic paintings and mixed media with found objects are on view at Fiddleheads Restaurant in Jamesburg. An opening reception will be held Sunday, May 17, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Born in Wisconsin, Kaplan graduated from the University of Connecticut with a master’s degree in social work and currently works as a social worker with senior adults.
Kaplan is the fourth generation of women artists in her family. Most of her work involves vibrant acrylic colors with a folk art vibe. She also created the cover art for “Tastes of Jewish Tradition,” an award-winning book.
