Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital was awared the Trailblazer Award by Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield and healthcare technology company CareFusion, recognizing the organization’s work in infection prevention.

As a member of the New Jersey Infection Prevention Partnership, RWJ Hamilton’s infection prevention team has been participating in best practice development, monitoring and reporting of infection control issues.
RWJ Hamilton has been working with CareFusion and Horizon for 10 years on innovative ways to identify and track nosocomial infection markers. RWJ Hamilton has seen a steady decrease in the number of infections that have occurred due to this partnership, and has been consistently below the expected infection rate.
