Two Lawrenceville students, Emily Conway and Genna Baffuto, were presented with $1,500 scholarships from the Friends of the Lawrence Library member Joan Goodman. The recipients were chosen on the basis of their scholarship, character and service to their schools and community. The Friends of the Lawrence Library wish the best to both of these outstanding local students and are honored to award them the scholarships.
Honor student Genna Buffato is a graduating senior at Notre Dame High School. In addition to her outstanding academic record, she has also been a long-time active member of the Youth Soccer Association, volunteering as a coach. Baffuto plans to attend Fairfield University this fall.
Lawrence High School senior Emily Conway is a motivated student. Committed to attaining academic excellence, she ranks in the top quarter of a highly competitive and talented class. Conway plans to pursue a career path in biology or forensic science and will attend Goucher College in the fall.
The Friends of the Lawrence Library fund a variety of children’s and adult programs at the library in addition to the two annual scholarships they award. These programs are financed by money raised through their book sales and annual membership dues.
