Princeton Public Library will host “Read and Be Read” live art session featuring artist Faraz Khan on June 26. The event will take place between 1-8 p.m. in the lobby of Princeton Public Library located at 65 Witherspoon Street in Princeton.
During the sesion, Khan will transform a bookcase full of old books into a painting using Arabic calligraphy. The artist will also take questions and explain his process while he works.
Khan is the Arts Council of Princeton Anne Reeves Artist-in-Residence.
“Read and Be Read” is co-sponsored by the library and The Arts Coucil of Princeton. It is intended to raise awareness of an upcoming exhibition on Arabic calligraphy at the Arts Council and to provide an experience where art is created in front of the public rather than behind closed doors.
All Princeton Public Library programs are free and open to the public.
