VOICES Chorale is set to hold auditions for singers on Monday evening, July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Music Together, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road, Hopewell. To arrange an audition call Susan Evans (609) 291-7456 or email drsevans@comcast.net. All auditions are informal and conducted in a positive and friendly atmosphere.
Music for the 2015-16 season includes Bach Magnificat excerpts, requiems by Duruflé and Fauré, as well as arrangements of carols, folksongs, and spirituals.
Members come primarily from Mercer, Hunterdon, and Bucks Counties, represent a wide range of ages and backgrounds, and are united in their desire to sing great music well. Most singers are familiar with reading music notation and singing in Latin and other languages as well as English. Music staff includes Lyn Ransom, Music Director, Emily Vite, Assistant Conductor, Josh Wilson, pianist, and several Choral Scholars. Each year, the Chorale presents 4-5 formal concerts and several outreach concerts of varied repertoire. Concerts are usually on weekends; rehearsals are held on Mondays 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. at Music Together in Hopewell.
