The collaboration of Let’s Help Let’s Move Public Charity and The Ewing Community Preschool to promote Early Childhood Health Education has drawn the attention of the Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie. Governor Christie has commended Let’s Help Let’s Move for its efforts to bring the national Let’s Move campaign to one of the State’s local communities.
LHLM, a recently established tax-exempt public charity, is composed of a group of concerned New Jersey and Pennsylvania residents who support the lifesaving missions of the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association and the national Let’s Move campaign. These organizations encourage people to make healthy lifestyle choices in order to reduce their risk of chronic illnesses. In alignment with their goals, LHLM is dedicated to raising awareness of the medical and psychological risks associated with obesity and to promoting healthy lifestyles and habits in families with very young children. LHLM educates parents and inspires young children to embrace a healthy lifestyle by offering educational entertainment specifically created to introduce and reinforce beliefs and habits that are essential to overall health and well-being.
LHLM has created and incorporated new superhero characters in their preschool programs for this purpose and intends to introduce them to families with children of preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school ages at community events. These larger-than-life superheroes inspire children to follow healthy, cancer-fighting food preferences and practices and use their superhero status to offset tactics often used by processed food monopolies. In addition to health education programs and services, LHLM plans to produce, publish and distribute health-related children’s books, cartoons, toys and other sources of educational entertainment to promote healthy lifestyle choices at a young age.
Larissa Sawicki, Founder of Let’s Help Let’s Move, is grateful to Rutgers Newark Intellectual Property Law Clinic for assisting her in the trade mark registration of the LHLM healthy superheroes. She is currently seeking a business partner who is willing to establish a health edutainment center restaurant through a joint venture with LHLM. The “Healthy Superland” enterprise will educate, promote and serve healthy food for children and their parents.
LHLM also acknowledges Food Bazaar Supermarket, Stop & Shop, Wegmans and Walmart for their donations and support of LHLM programs that help young children develop an internal compass by which they will instinctively embrace healthy choices.
