Pennington School alumna Alana Cook, defender on the School’s girls’ soccer team and a member of the recently-graduated Class of 2015, has been named the All-American Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Formerly a boarding student at The Pennington School and hailing from Far Hills, Cook received the honor at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) Summer Symposium on August 1, 2015 in Orlando, Florida.

Cook is a two-time member of the NSCAA’s Youth Girls All-America Team. Cook, who is headed to attend and play soccer at Stanford University this fall, also played in the Second Annual High School All-American Game December 13, 2014. Forty-two exceptional high school soccer players, seniors who had finished their high school careers, were invited to play.

Cook and three of her Pennington teammates were also named to the 2014-15 Scholar All-America Team by the NSCAA. Lauren Brown, Alana Cook, Amanda Dafonte and Allison Vickers were all named to the Scholar All-American Team for the East Region. The four players were all honored at the NSCAA Summer Symposium at the Lake Buena Vista Palace in Orlando on August 1.
