Robbinsville Soccer Association, in partnership with Community Recycling introduced a shoe-recycling fundraiser that promises ease and engagement for all involved. The ShoeBox Recycling program collects gently used shoes for reuse.
Robbinsville Soccer Association will collect shoes that will find new owners around the world. From South America and Africa to areas right here in the United States, the recycled shoes will go to help people and communities in over 50 countries.
Through the ShoeBox Recycling SoleMate Note initiative, recyclers are urged to include a “SoleMate” note along with their recycled shoes telling their shoes’ new owner where they came from, what they were used for, or even any special memories attached to them. In return, the recipient can write back to complete the SoleMate connection.
Community Recycling is proud to be a for-profit recycler of shoes. They have flipped the recycling triangle upside down and have mastered the most powerful ‘R’—REUSE. With over 300 million pairs of reusable shoes hitting landfills each year, they are looking to change the way people think about their shoes.
