Mildred B. Burns, 89, of Wrightstown died August 18. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alexander and Bonnie Burns Jr. of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation of NJ, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington 08016-3896 or www.njmasonic.org.

Martin J. Marino Sr., 95, of Hazlet Township died August 21. An Army veteran, he received the Purple Heart. He served as mayor of Hazlet and was on the board of education. Survivors include a son, Vincent Traina of Plainsboro. Donations may be sent to the Hazlet Township First Aid & Rescue Squad, 19 Maple Drive, Hazlet.

James Hammond Watson, 93, of Clifton died August 22. A Navy veteran, he was an expediter for Otis Elevators for 48 years. Survivors include a granddaughter, Brittany Watson of West Windsor.

William Dwyer, 59, of North Brunswick, died August 23. Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Dwyer of Plainsboro.

Margaret Frances Gonzalez, 92, of Lenox, Massachusetts, died August 24. She taught chemistry and mathematics in high schools in West Windsor and Princeton. Survivors include her sons Ronald of Hyde Park, Massachusetts, and David of New York, NY. Donations may be made to the Natural Resources Defense Fund, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for St. Stephen’s Table, or Keuka College Development Fund in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.

James Anthony Hynes Jr., 76, of West Windsor died August 26. Arrangements were by A.S. Cole Funeral Home in Cranbury.

Frances R. Rudnick Shapiro, 77, of West Windsor died August 27 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in the Bronx, NY, she moved to West Windsor in 2002. A member of Kendall Park Ladies Auxiliary Fire Company and past president of the Beth Shalom, Kendall Park, she worked at Lavake in Princeton for more than 15 years.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Norman Shapiro; her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew D. and Marni Shapiro of New York City; daughters and sons-in-law, Sari L. and Brad Rubin of Marlboro, and Cynthia and Jonathan Root of Westfield; and six grandchildren, Corey and Jason Rubin, Emily and Ryan Shapiro, and Chloe and Jake Root. Donations may be made to the Jewish Community Center of Long Beach Island, 15 East 24th Street, Long Beach Township 08008.

Cora Sharpless, 90, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, died August 27. Survivors include a son, Roderick Sharpless of West Windsor.

Victor J. Tomasulo, 89, of Monroe died August 30. A veteran of the Army Air Corps during WWII, he was a New York City Police Officer for 15 years, a licensed chiropractor, and retired as a supervising inspector for the DEP City of New York Air and Water Resources. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Claire and Hector Mendez and Lorraine and James Byrnes, all of West Windsor. David J. “Nudge” Hart, 58, of Hopewell died September 2. Survivors include a niece, Karen Ellsworth of Plainsboro.

Susanne DiStefano Trani, 91, of Mercerville died September 5. A former resident of West Windsor, she was the owner of the Fountain of Youth Beauty Salon in West Windsor and managed the beauty salon at Meadow Lakes. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville 07834-1365.

Marion Gridley Hitchcock, 85, of Avon, Connecticut, died September 3. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathleen Bybee of West Windsor, and their children Robert, Stephen, and Lydia.

William Francis Brossman Sr., 89, of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania, died September 8. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Army in Europe. A graduate of Parks College of St. Louis University, he was an aeronautical engineer at Westinghouse Electric in Kansas City, Missouri, and at Lycoming Textron in Stratford, Connecticut.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, M. Lucille; son and daughter-in-law, William Francis Brossman Jr. and his wife, Euna, (Suburban Mom columnist for the WW-P News); and grandchildren, Katherine, Molly, and William Francis III, all of Plainsboro. Katherine and Molly are past conrtributors of “Suburban Teen” columns to the News.

Services are Friday, September 12, at 10 a.m., at Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, PA. Donations may be made to Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown, PA 18104.

Catherine Elizabeth (Kitty) Brennan, 96, of Baltimore, Maryland, died September 8. Survivors include her children, Lee and Linda Brennan of West Windsor.
