I am thrilled to be running for re-election to the WW-P School Board, and I will be honored to continue to represent West Windsor-Plainsboro residents.
As the chair of the board’s Finance Committee, I face the challenge of maintaining an outstanding education for our children at an affordable price to taxpayers. Our children deserve an education that will prepare them well for college and careers. Taxpayers deserve fiscal responsibility.
I served on the board’s negotiation committee with the teacher’s union for two contracts. With 80 percent of the school budget being contractually tied, my experience in contract negotiations and financial management will be vital in securing fair settlements for taxpayers and district employees.
As a parent of three children who attend district schools, I have first-hand experience of curriculum, instruction, and classroom experience at various grade levels.
I hold volunteer leadership positions within several community organizations, including chair of the Friends of the West Windsor Library. I also have served as co-president of the Community Middle School PTSA and tournament director of the 13U Babe Ruth State Baseball Tournament.
I am the school board liaison to the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, a committee of teachers and administrators that meets monthly to discuss issues affecting students and teachers. I also serve as school board liaison to the West Windsor Recreation Commission, ensuring that the commission and the district work collaboratively to support the community. I participated on the district’s Technology Committee, which developed a mission statement and multi-year plan for the use of technology in the classroom. All of these experiences have given me the opportunity to work directly with students, parents, community members, principals, administrators and teachers.
Please support my school board re-election and feel free to share any issues that you want addressed.
