Trenton-Mercer Airport will host an Experimental Aircraft Association World War II vintage B-17 that will be open to the public on September 23 and 24. Tours will be between 2 and 5 p.m. both days.
The tour will feature a refurbished World War II-era B-17 bomber. Individuals may walk through the bomber and representatives will be on hand to answer any questions and provide insight into the aircraft. Flights in the aircraft will also be available.
This restored B-17G Flying Fortress named “Aluminum Overcast” is one of only 14 still flying.
Walking tours are $10 a person and $20 per family.
The flight experience is $449 per person scheduled in advance or $475 for walk-ups. Flights are usually 45 minutes and held before walking tours.
