On October 8, from noon to 1 p.m., the New Jersey State Library is set to present a free lunchtime program with Pat Jordan of the American Historical Theatre playing Clara Barton.
Participants will learn about Barton, a great humanitarian and founder of the American Red Cross. She was also passionate about education and founded the first public school in New Jersey.
Jordan is an actor, operatic singer and historian and has worked at the American Historical Theatre since 1992.
The program is part of a Notable New Jersey series that the state library is presenting through a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
The program will be held in the library’s second floor reading room at 185 West State Street in Trenton.
Registration by contacting Cindy Warrick at cwarrick@njstatelib.org is appreciated.
