After a four-year restoration project, Howell Living History Farm’s Henry Phillips Farmhouse is set to open this Saturday, Oct. 4. Admission to the farm and grand opening is free to the public.
Members of the public will be able to attend new programs that model the work, living conditions and social activities that occurred within the house during the farm’s 1890-1910 period of interpretation.
County Executive Brian M. Hughes and Park Commission Executive Director Kevin B. Bannon will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., which will be followed by a reception with music, refreshments and exhibits. Guests are also invited to participate in a special walk-through of the house that will showcase the restoration process.
Games, ice cream making and other children’s activities are planned for the morning. Children can also enjoy hayrides, food service and a craft program, “Quilt Pictures,” at a cost.
Howell Farm is located on Valley Road in Hopewell Township. Parking is free.
