Bordentown City residents experienced a power outage Sunday, Oct. 5 due to a tree limb which came into contact with electrical wires.
The City of Bordentown often has trees trimmed to avoid such events, but as Mayor Joseph Malone pointed out, not every issue reported by residents can be addressed by the city immediately. The mayor also noted that tree trimming is for the protection and safety of those in Bordentown.
In the past the city has spent over $200,000 in tending trees and repairing up-rooted sidewalks. Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) trimmed a large number of trees in the winter of last year when weather conditions made overhanging limbs especially dangerous.
If you see an issue in Bordentown that could lead to a hazard please notify PSE&G or for issues specific to the City of Bordentown residents may call Zig Targonski at 609-298-0604.
