West Windsor Arts Council presents its 10th annual Autumn Arts Afternoon at the Nassau Park Pavilion in West Windsor on Sunday, October 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. This hands-on visual arts festival will feature local artists who will share their talent and expertise in various art forms and media. Each artist will interact with the public and give everyone an opportunity to explore new and different visual art media or techniques.
Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to celebrate the arts through storytelling, performing artists, and sculptures to paint and decorate. Bring your imagination. Materials will be provided. There is no rain date.

The gallery at the Plainsboro Public Library presents a collection of abstract mixed media collage and acrylic paintings by artist Linda Gebhard, representing her works from 2006 to the present. The show runs to Wednesday, October 22.
Gebhard’s abstracts allow viewers to explore a wide range of color, texture, and detail, and to interpret each piece freely. “The effort behind my work is to get the viewer to disengage from the rigidity of having to know the correct answer,” she says. “I am trying to encourage viewers to connect with feelings that resonate while considering the work; to spend time really looking. In this society, we have been trained to try to figure everything out. I am encouraging people to connect with groundlessness because in the end there is no right answer.”
A native of Montreal, Canada, Gebhard lived in Switzerland for 12 years before moving to the U.S. in 1976. Her career has been in the pharmaceutical industry. Her artwork has been exhibited regionally as well as in California, Philadelphia, and New York. She has a studio at the Art Station in Hightstown.
“I usually feel like the product looks good when the process felt good,” says Gebhard. “I enjoy producing art that makes people think, work that is personal to myself as well as the viewer.”
