Six area students competed in the 2014 United States Pony Club (USPC) national championships held in Lexington, Kentucky, in July. Riders at the five-day event began their day at 6 a.m. and ended at 7 p.m.
Molly Hannington, a junior at High School South, has a C-1 HB rating and has been a member of USPC for four years. She competed with her horse Ninja Warrior in show jumping.
Julia Geer, a junior at High School South, has a C-2 HB rating and has been a member of USPC for six years. She competed with her horse Pirate Queen in show jumping and placed third in her division.
Theresa Litzinger, a June graduate of High School South, has a C-1 HM D-3 rating and has been a member of USPC for four years. She competed on her horse Oliver Twist in dressage.
Sara Haas, an eighth grade student at Community Middle School, has a D-2 rating and has been a member of USPC for one year. She competed in quiz.
Juliana Isnardi, a senior at High School North, has a C-1 HB rating and has been a USPC member for four years. She was a stable manager for dressage.
Kyra Burns, a sophomore at High School North, has a C-2 rating and has been a member of USPC member for seven years. Kyra competed with her horse Glory in eventing.
Anne Stevens, the district commissioner of Cream Ridge Pony Club, was one of the coaches. Her daughters, Kelsey and Katie, were also coaches at the event. Both graduates of High School North, they are equestrian athletes and USPC members.
