Princeton’s Westminster Conservatory will hold musical performances on Nov. 1 and 2:
On Sat., Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. the Conservatory will present faculty members in its concert “For Flutes Only: Baroque to Broadway”. The program will include works by Strauss, Telemann, Scarlatti, Gaubert, Glière, Powning, Andersen, McMichael, and Rodgers and Hammerstein performed by Westminster Conservatory flutists Kimberly Bryan, Ellen Fisher-Deerberg, John Lane, Katherine McClure, Barbara Highton Williams and Kevin Willois.
Westminster Conservatory faculty members will also perform in the “Suzuki Family Concert” on Sun., Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. The concert will feature solo and ensemble music, beginning with and expanding upon the Suzuki teaching repertoire, including works by Beethoven, Handel, Brahms, Dvořák, Corelli, Schumann, Mozart and more. The performers will include Barbara Highton Williams, flute; Urška Haule Feguš, violin; Shannon Merlino, violinandviola; Chika Mimura,violin; Laurie Cascante, cello; Jessica Rey-de-Castro, piano; Ikumi Hiraiwa, piano; and Eva Kastner-Puschl,piano.
Both concerts will be held at the Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University, 101 Walnut Lane, Princeton, and are free and open to the public.
Westminster Conservatory of Music has served the Central New Jersey/eastern Pennsylvania area with on-campus and community-based music instruction.
