Xuande Guo, 78, of West Windsor died October 10, one day after he was hit by a car while crossing Clarksville Road (see police reports, page 33). Born in Beiyang, China in 1936, Guo is survived by his wife, Lihui Liu, son and daughter-in-law, Tao and Eva, and grandchildren, Annie, Angelo, and Katherine, all of West Windsor. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters in Beiyang, China.
Stephen J. Russo, 79, of West Windsor died October 10 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell. Born in Trenton, he lived in West Windsor for the last 40 years. A jazz accordionist, he founded Russo Music Center 54 years ago.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lucy (DiGuiseppi) Russo; daughter, Patricia A. Russo of Hamilton; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and James R. Forester of Yardley, PA; two grandchildren, Stephen James and Briana Ashley Forester of Yardley, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Victor (Chris) Crisci of Wayne; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lydia Russo of Broomall, PA; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nina and Daniel Gowaty of Princeton.

Vera Sharpe Kohn, 86, of Plainsboro died October 12. She was born and raised in New York City.
A graduate of Mount Holyoke College with degrees in modern European history and political science, she received a licence from L’Institute des Hautes Etudes Internationales at the University of Geneva. She attended Yale Law School, where she was one of eight women in a class of close to 180 law students.
She taught at the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and later worked in the Office of Public Information of the United Nations’ Secretariat. Since moving to the Princeton area in 1968, she volunteered at the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, was a docent at the Princeton University Art Museum, and was a board member of the Princeton University Concert Committee.
Survivors include four children and their spouses; and six grandchildren. Donations may be made to Institute for Advanced Study, the Princeton University Art Museum, or the Princeton University Chamber Concerts.
Hoyt Walter Shore Jr., 62, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died October 14. Survivors include his sister, June Tweed Claburn and her husband Gene; his nephew Jeffrey; and great-nephew Max, all of West Windsor. John Rostosky, 93, of Ewing died October 15. He was a World War II veteran with the Marines.
