WWP Wildcats Football and Cheer Organization organized a “PINK OUT” at West Windsor Community Park on October 5 in commemoration of breast cancer awareness month. “This disease is hitting the Wildcat family particularly hard as a mom of one of our Jr. Pee Wee players was just diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 41,” says Libby Vinson, a board member of the organization and one of the announcers at the event.
The games were played from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all the football players and cheerleaders wore pink sweatbands and socks. Shirts sold benefited cancer research.
Vinson’s husband, Dennis, is a coach; and all three of their sons play football. “I’m very involved in the community, but the Wildcats organization is particularly special,” she says. “There are few community groups that compare in the level of camaraderie that exists in the Wildcat family.”
