Hopewell Public Library is having a big birthday in March.
It’s been 100 years since the library was founded in a former harness shop at Broad and Mercer Streets. Today, at its current home in the old Hopewell National Bank building at 13 East Broad Street, the busy library is the heart of the community.
The library is set to celebrate its centennial 7 p.m. March 15 at Off-Broadstreet Theatre.
The celebration features a tapas-style menu from Will Mooney of Brothers Moon, including wine, beer and a signature cocktail. Additionally there will be a DJ, dance floor, photo booth and silent auction. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on any of 100 autographed books and original art.
Tickets are $100 per person. Proceeds from the event are set to help fund modern library facilities and equipment.
