Newly re-elected West Windsor mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh has promised to hold more town hall meetings this year, “in order to communicate better with the residents and keep them informed about what is going on in our town.” The first one was held on Saturday, February 1, and unlike many such meetings this one produced some news.
In the course of reviewing many of the positive gains made by the township — everything from a steady real estate market to developments such as the Ellsworth Center that are now in the development pipeline, Hsueh informed residents that the long-dormant mixed used project on Washington Road in the train station redevelopment area may have a new owner.
Said the mayor: “It is my understanding that Intercap no longer owns the property at the former transit village site; certainly it appears that Steve Goldin is no longer involved. It seems that they may have sold at least most of the property to a new developer, who probably will come to the Planning Board in the spring with a new proposal. The Planning Board will have to review any proposal to make sure it is in compliance with township codes.”
Hsueh declined to elaborate on the news. “That is all of the definite information that I have right now.” Efforts by the News to reach Goldin for comment were not immediately successful.
