Butterflies with Red by Sarah Stengle.
Two Trenton-based artists are launching a program based on Community Supported Agriculture.
Community Supported Agriculture, in which shareholders provide funds and farmers provide them with produce, has been around for years. Now that model is begin applied to art.
Community Supported Art is gaining a foothold in cities across the country. Art patrons invest in a share upfront, then collect an array of limited edition art created especially for them.
Artists Lauren Otis and Andrew Wilkinson are bringing that idea to Trenton.
Through Trenton Community Supported Art, patrons will have the opportunity to collect art from eight local artists.
Otis and Wilkinson have selected a mix of up-and-coming and established artists with diverse styles and creative mediums to create work for the inaugural Trenton CSArt.
Artists are Robert Cannon, Jon “Lank” Conner, Lora Durr, Wills Kinsley, Tamara Torres, Debbie Reichard, Sarah Stengle, and Mike V.
Shares are $350 and entitle the purchaser to eight pieces of original art from each of Trenton CSArt’s artists.
Shareholders will pick up their art, and have the opportunity to meet the artists, at mixers held at Otis’ and Wilkinson’s Cass Street studios in Trenton.
Enrollment is open and ongoing. Registration will be cut off at 25.
