PEAC Health & Fitness is set host a lecture called Healthy Habits for Kids.
PEAC’s Michelle Briehler is set to lead an interactive presentation focused on important habits parents can instill in their children to help them develop into healthy adults.
She recently presented at the Pennington Public Library. Her presentation highlighted “eight healthy habits;” including eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, drinking enough water, eating meals as a family and exercising.
Participants were treated to samples of nutritious snacks that can be made at home, including oatmeal with healthy toppings, and a lentil and sweet potato stew. The program was supported with donations from Trader Joe’s and Wegmans in Princeton, and Pennington Quality Market in Pennington.
Through her Healthy Habits for Kids lecture, Briehler strives to share with parents the positive impact they can make in their child’s health. According to Briehler, healthy habits can improve children’s attention and concentration in school, increase their energy and immune system function.
Briehler has been in the fitness and wellness industry for more than 15 years. She is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, and a certified Group Exercise instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
She has two young sons, and is passionate about encouraging them and others to make healthy food and lifestyle choices.
Briehler is scheduled to present Healthy Habits for Kids 11 a.m. Feb. 25 at PEAC, 1440 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing. The lecture is open to PEAC members and the community.
