The Arts Council of Princeton presents an exciting lineup of Holiday Workshops this season, including “Silk & Wool Scarves,” led by artist-instructor Piroska Toth, on Nov. 22.
The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) has announced this year’s line-up of Holiday Workshops.
With the guidance of professional art instructors, participants will create hand-crafted pieces that can be used as holiday gifts. Workshops offered this year include Harvest for the Holidays: Botanical Arrangements, Nov. 15, at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed; Fabric Birds, Nov. 15; Silk & Wool Scarves, Nov. 22; Simple Soldered Gemstone Ring, Dec. 6; Chinese Brush Painting: Autumn Flowers, Dec. 6; Celebration Garland, Dec. 6; Flower Power: Mixed Media Bouquet for ages 4-6 and 7-10, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13; Felting for the Holidays, Dec. 13; Illuminated Letters, Dec. 13; and Telling Stories in Clay, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.
Each of these workshops offers the opportunity to explore a new artistic medium. One of the featured art instructors is Piroksa Toth, who has taught felting techniques at the ACP for several years. This holiday season she shares her expertise with participants in the “Silk & Wool Scarves” workshop, where participants will learn felting techniques and make a unique, lightweight scarf using wool yarn, carded wool, carded silk, and silk fabric scraps for surface design.
