Princeton Public Library is set to host a screening of !Women Art Revolution and discussion with filmmaker Lynn Hershman.
The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. March 9 in the library’s community room, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
The film, selected by New York’s MOMA as one of the best documentaries of the year, explores the secret history of feminist art.
Starting from its roots in 1960s antiwar and civil rights protests, the film details major developments in feminist art through the 1970s and explores how the tenacity and courage of these pioneering artists resulted in what is now widely regarded as the most significant art movement of the late 20th century.
Artist Judith Brodsky is set to introduce the film.
Hershman will also participate in a post-screening discussion.
The program is part of the Concentric Circles of Influence: The Queenston Press series.
