Sustainable Lawrence is set to sponsor the seventh annual Living Local Expo.
The expo is set to feature representatives from sustainable local businesses, electric cars, local farmers, cooking demonstrations, hands-on workshops and the “Ask your Neighbor” table, where visitors can hear how homeowners completed successful energy-efficient home projects.
In addition to the more than 60 eco-friendly vendors at the expo, visitors can hear speakers discuss a variety of sustainability issues ranging from local school gardening and science projects, to the future of transportation, to recycling in Mercer County.
Several car dealers are set to bring their electric models for a mini-show in the parking lot. See a converted electric truck and participate in building an electric bicycle using a simple kit.
Visitors can sample local produce and restaurant offerings from local farms and chefs. The expo includes a mini-farmers market.
Local school and organizations representatives will be on site to discuss projects like new biking paths, walking trails, and other community projects.
Visitors can donate bikes to The Trenton Bike Exchange or donate gently used medical equipment to Resource.
Sustainable Lawrence is hosting the event in partnership with the green teams from Lawrence, Ewing and Hopewell, and Mercer County’s Office of Sustainable Development.
The Living Local Expo is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 at the National Guard Armory, 101 Eggert Crossing Road, Lawrenceville.
