Princeton University Concerts is set to present a performance of the London-based chamber collective the Nash Ensemble April 3 at 8 p.m.
The Nash Ensemble is the resident ensemble of London’s Wigmore Hall and will be in residence to premiere Trains of Thought, a new work by Princeton University graduate student Viet Cuong written expressly for them.
In addition to Trains of Thought, the program will include Smetana’s Overture to the Bartered Bride, arranged for the Nash Ensemble by British composer David Matthews, Schumann’s Fairy Tales Op. 132, Shostakovich’s Four Waltzes and Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major, Op. 81.
The concert will be preceded by a musical preview, featuring three of Princeton’s pianists at 7 p.m. The preview is free to ticketholders.
Immediately following the concert, Professor Dan Trueman will moderate a talk back between the musicians and the audience.
The concert will take place at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall located 68 Nassau Street, Princeton.
