Hamilton Free Public Library is set to offer its first series of computer classes.
Courses include basic computer skills, library resources, job search and government web sites.
The basics skills course is made up of four classes. The course begins with “The Computer,” which includes lessons on basic computer parts, terminology, using the mouse and everyday functions. Next, students will learn about using Microsoft Office, e-mail and Facebook.
The library resources course is three classes. Lessons include how to use the library’s catalog, databases and eBooks.
The job search course is made up of two classes. The first class in an introduction; lessons include searching job websites and uploading résumé. The second is an open lab for résumé help.
Classes for the government web site course have not been announced
The library is set to provide 11 computers, donated by the Friends of the Hamilton Public Library. Students may bring they own laptop.
Courses typically run one hour.
